Perhaps did you in fact mean:
tell application "Finder"
set XXX to folder "HD:Applications:xxx:"
set BBB to folder "BUdisk:Backups:"
duplicate XXX to BBB with replacing
end
Of course, your copy will now be named "xxx" as the original folder,
and the modification date of folder "BUdisk:Backupss:" will be
modified upon each backup operation.
But both the original "xxx" and its copy should have identical
modification dates; could you check on your system?
Oooops !
Axel, you're right !!
You know what I mean better I do myself. Amazing !! ;-))
When th backup has completed, the modification dates of both "xxx"
folders (original and backup), as well as their included files are
identical in the finder information.
The modification date of the included file, which I use to check the
backup validity, returned by AS is not the same as the finder's one
(??!).
In fact, "xxx" folder contains 2 large important files, which I wish
to backup and a lot of irrelevant ones, with no interest.
May be it would be a good idea to backup those 2 files instead of the
whole "xxx" container folder.
Evil is in detail.
Thanks again Axel.
Friendly.
