Weird iTunes Problem

Hi,

I have 13,196 mp3 files in folder. I have an AppleScript with add the files to the main library in iTunes. This works fine. The Script then "duplicates" the files from the main hard disk library to an iPod. This sort of works, except at the end I get around 120 less tracks on the iPod! If I "add" the files to the iPod (rather that coping them from the main library), the correct number of files appears on the iPod!

I tried this via the GUI (not with AppleScript) and I get the same results, so it doesn't look like a bug in my Script.

Does anyone have a clue what is going on here? From the iTunes GUI I do this:

1. Delete All Tracks from the Library.
2. Delete All Tracks from the iPod.
3. Drag and Drop the base folder into the "Library" playlist in iTunes, 13,196 tracks appear (after a long wait).
4. Select Library/Music in iTunes.
5. Select All (highlights all tracks).
6. Drag and Drop Tracks from Library/Music in iTunes to the iPod (13,196 appears in the drag).
7. After the copy only 13076 Tracks appear on the iPod.

If I do this:

1. Delete All Tracks from the Library.
2. Delete All Tracks from the iPod.
3. Drag and Drop the base folder into the "Library" playlist in iTunes, 13,196 tracks appear (after a long wait).
4. Drag and Drop the base folder into the iPod, 13,196 tracks appear (after a long wait).

All the Best
Dave
