One problem I found is that the "makecopy" option for Save doesn't

the "in" option is an alias, but I found that it requires a string to
a valid path.
That's standard in many, many applications that use the Standard
Suite's
'save' command. It's incorrectly defined in the Standard Suite to be
an
alias - it can't be, since the file (usually) doesn't exist yet.
I know; in fact, I tried it with a string before I realized that the
dictionary says "alias" because I knew that you can't specify an alias
that doesn't exist.
But it bothers me that the "MakeCopy" parameter doesn't work. If you
don't rename the file, it replaces the original file, and with the
file I was using, it kept the "jpg" extension even though it changed
it to a PDF file.
Another curiosity is that if I didn't change the name, the resulting
PDF would be opened in Adobe Reader, but if I did change the name, the
resulting PDF would be opened in Preview. In neither case was Graphic
Converter the default application, even though GC saved the document.
