I have created a script that I saved as a Stay Open application.
When running this script from Script Editor it can run for hours without

The problem was that AppleScript applications are PPC. Changing the type to
application bundle solved the problem. I am surprised no one here could
hint me in this direction (I submited a bug report to Apple and got this
suggestion/solution in return).
