That's interesting. You mean if you do a Get Info on one of those
Adobe apps and click the Name & Extension disclosure triangle,
".app" doesn't appear? Or is it just that Finder doesn't return the
extension when you tell it to get the app's name?
Clicking on the "Name and Extension" disclosure doesn't show any
extension, and the "Hide Extension" checkbox is unchecked. Further,
if "Show all file extensions" is checked in Finder Preferences, no
extension is shown in the Finder.
But I shouldn't have said "None"; Adobe Help Center and Adobe Help
Viewer do show the ".app" extension, but Adobe Bridge, Adobe Reader,
and Adobe Photoshop Elements do not show the extension.
