How do I create a Applescript Interface for my Application

I would like someone to be able to use applescript to send some files to
my application for processing but I have no idea how to make my
application visible to applescript, so that if the application is
already running it can send some files to it, if it isnt running it is
started and files
then sent to it. Could you point me in the right direction please ?
