But I tend to agree that the suspicion of a bug somewhere is justified. For example I think there should be a separation between 'text' and 'rich text' so that if you ask a document for its text then that's exactly what you get. But if you ask for its 'attributed text' (in any form) then a different record should be returned and moreover, an attribute run should contain a range descriptor in its key/value pairs.
