What you need is:

tell application "Image Events"
launch
end tell

Check out the  "Image Events" dictionary.
Check out this site:

Hi everybody,
is there a way to manipulate pictures via AppleScript?
I want to lighten, darken or blur pictures an assemble them.

Any clues how I can do that?

Greetings, Ronald
