Flameout

I was writing instructions for an application that creates a sparsebundle archive whose contents the user should burn to DVD when full. I noticed that the Finder's File menu has a Burn ... item that I've never used. So I tried it.

I selected the "... .sparsebundle" file, choose Finder/File/Burn ..., and got the dialog:

To begin, insert a blank disk.
This disk will be burned with the contents of "Untitled Disc.fpbf".
You need a disc with a capacity of at least 2.31 GB.

The 2nd line of the dialog makes no sense, but I inserted a disc anyway. No Response. Cancel.

Why does the Finder invite me to burn, then not burn?
