Problems using Satimage OSAX

I must be missing something really simple here, I installed the
Satimage OSAX in my ScriptingAdditions folder and tried the
simple example
set the_str to pi as string
find text "3" in the_str
and get the error message
error "\"3\" doesn’t understand the find text message." number
-1708 from "3"
Any idea what I'm missing? (because, right now I can't figure it out)
