Use of 'whose' in Snow Leopard?

  • Subject: Use of 'whose' in Snow Leopard?

Just tested some scripts in Snow Leopard and noticed that the use of 'whose' with the Finder seems much slower.

as in

tell application "Finder" to (get the displayed name of every item of alias << path to folder >> whose label index is 6)

Note:  the << path to folder >> is simply the filepath string to the appropriate folder in the Finder.

This seems to invoke the coreservicesd process when I observe it in Activity Monitor. The Finder and coreservicesd keep trading off using 30-60% of the CPU.

Anybody else noticing the use of (every X 'whose' in the Finder) is significantly slower in 10.6?

Todd
