Sorry, I'm a NeXT guy, so don't understand why such a basic thing would be inside an executable. If it were a proper Cocoa program this wouldn't be an issue and if it were it would be possible to replace the code in question using ``Pose As''.

Time is the precious commodity in question here --- I'm already getting complaints of this script executing slowly --- doubling the number of files which it writes out is not going to endear it to the people who need to use it.

I guess I'll go back to saving out raw JPEG files from PhotoShop --- if they then complain of the file sizes (the sole advantage of using export for web) I'll re-work it to save out TIFs, then convert them at the command line.

My thanks to everyone for the information (and reminiscences).
