Inside compiled code?

Sorry, I'm a NeXT guy, so don't understand why such a basic thing would be inside an executable. If it were a proper Cocoa program this wouldn't be an issue and if it were it would be possible to replace the code in question using ``Pose As''.

Not worth your time.

Use my little 5 lines of joy instead.

Time is the precious commodity in question here --- I'm already getting complaints of this script executing slowly --- doubling the number of files which it writes out is not going to endear it to the people who need to use it.

It doesn't double the number of files.  You output the files you want and then rename them to what you want after it's been output.
