Because SD is still passing aliases.
I believe it's still on Mark's list, but because the initial reported
problem with bookmarks was solved (in 10.6 and probably 10.6.1 coercion of
bookmarks to text dropped the trailing colon for folders), and at that point
no other problems were being reported, I'm guessing it has a low priority.
In fact, I suggested that changing to bookmarks was only likely to confuse
people, given that the change was completely undocumented.
And I guess the bahavior you're seeing should be reported to Apple as a bug.
