Hi,
Nigel, this is an idea that I will check as soon as I can, Thanks.
In the mean time I realized that I can get anything in the "Open Recent"
menu (in Script Editor and also in Preview, so I think in any
application that support the feature).
A buggy Snow Leopard install ?
[I will try to boot from an older install done on an external hard disk
this evening]

I don't know how to change it, but faster work-rounds are to change the
window's target momentarily or, better still, flip its view setting.
Switching to list view and back produces a visual "whoosh" effect that
you might get to like.:)
tell application "Finder"
-- Keyboard shortcut
set fw to front Finder window
-- Set the variable
set IcnName to "Icon.png"
-- Change the file position
tell fw
if (item IcnName exists) then
set position of item IcnName to {630, 74}
set {current view, current view} to {list view, icon view}
end if
end tell
end tell
