Are you running the Applescript with a "Perform Applescript" FileMaker script step?  If so, I don't believe FileMaker waits for the Applescript to finish.  At least it didn't in FileMaker 5.5 and I've followed the same formula since that time.  I create a wait loop in the FileMaker script and the last thing the Applescript does is set a global field to signal that it is finished.  Does this help or have I completely missed the mark?

Thanks for the reply,

Kind of, but not really l :) I think this actually still failed when it was just an applescript outside of FileMaker, although I suspected that it was the "Perform Applescript" aswell..

However it's not so much about waiting for the "Perform Applescript" command in the FileMaker script, but each command line within the applescript not waiting.
