I don't think it was a red herring. My example was mean to show how easily
the OP's original challenge is met in Ruby, and that is just what it does.
You're obviously correct to show an example that demonstrates that Ruby
"just does" this - i.e. rb-appscript does this merely because Ruby does it -
but that is the point I was making too. m.
