I must've done something in my System Preferences -> Language and Text -> Formats tab, but I can't figure out what.

The clock in my menu bar is really nice -- it says "Thu Jul 8 6:31", showing day of week and date and time.  I followed instructions years ago to set that up, then upgraded from Tiger a few months ago.  Maybe that has something to do with it.

Yup; same thing happened to me.

Check Medium format Time in Language and Text.

The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naive and usually idiotic. He is , more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime ; he is a good citizen driven to despair.--H.L Mencken
