say "Mac OS X, OMG" pitch 40 speaking rate 200
say "Mac OS X, OMG" pitch 50 speaking rate 250
say "Mac OS X, OMG" pitch 60 speaking rate 300
say "Mac OS X, OMG" pitch 70 speaking rate 350
say "Mac OS X, OMG" pitch 80 speaking rate 400

If you're in 10.6, you should stuck to the new terminology.

Sometime it's kind of hard to tell what's new and what's not.

With the new technology, I'm getting pauses after every line and have no control over the rhythm.  With the in-line commands, the script can change rate without the pause. If it could change pitch and modulation that would be great.

Did you try these?

say "Mac OS X, LOL!"

ES

say "OMG"
