Title: Re: iPhoto returns a real number as a photo ID
>>>iPhoto is a consumer photo managing product. Aperture is the professional one. Treat each as such.
Iphoto is a product aimed at consumers who want to manage their photo collection and have photos accessible to to a wide variety of applications. It also has basic editing and processing tools.
Aperture is a program aimed at professional photographers who want advance photo editing and processing tools and basic photo management.
There is so much overlap between consumers and professionals, and many of appleās tools (iWork, iLife) are and capable of professional work that it is not unreasonable to expect a consumer application iPhoto to work better with metadata, and certainly not unreasonable to expect it not to remove metadata from photos.
But I also agree that blanket statements bashing apple (or any other developer) for their approach are unreasonable and uncalled for.
And this will be my only post on the subject.
