What? Consumers don't have any need for coherent metadata? 
BTW, I'm not knowledgeable about Aperture but my understanding is that it isn't exactly a champion when it comes to metadata either. How well does it support XMP? 


iPhoto is a consumer photo managing product. Aperture is the professional one. Treat each as such.
