Greetings,
I've used that Osax for years but only for testing - not for high volume mailings. It hasn't made the jump to 64bit, so I never installed it on Snow Leopard. Did you contact the developer about the crashing problem?
I've also used his Appearance.osax and found him pretty responsive over the years.
For real big-time bulk mailings I agree with S. J. Cunningham that a commercial bulk-mailer is worth the money.
I assume you've looked at the console when crashes have occurred for clues?
Beyond that I think I'd probably install Smile as my script-server and do some extensive logging to see if I could pinpoint what's causing the crashes. Smile takes a bit of getting used to but is powerful and quite stable - I'd rather use it than a stay-open script if possible. (I develop with Script Debugger, but I always keep Smile on the machine for testing.)
