OK.  I've verified that current time is in the QT player dictionary from 10.4.8 and in 10.6.4

Would a solution be to use the QT 7 Quicktime Player when on Snow Leopard?  I've got the QT X and QT 7 player both installed on my Snow Leopard Macs.

Maybe compile the script on Leopard using QT 7 and see if it runs under QT 7 on SL?
