Hey Jeff,
This has been a perennial theme in computing for decades, but it's not usually mentioned in software reviews. People get busy with life, people don't make money on their software and give up on it, people drop dead. Many useful bits of software have been lost over the years for those reasons and others.
MacLinkPlus used to be a vital part of my Mac Toolkit, because dealing with PC file formats and obsolete file formats was commonplace. I miss it still.
Tom says he's working on a Cocoa version of Tex-Edit Plus, but he refuses to speculate on a release date. I believe him and don't think it's vaporware. I also think the new version will use standardized file formats.
That doesn't help you in the short term however.
