Cry into your pillow.
Let's face facts. You stuffed up. It's your mess. Your own decisions and actions put you into the position you are in.
The decision to move to Lion was made by you. Now you have a computer running an OS that does not support your preferred text editor. You did this regardless of the fact that you had been in communication with developer and you knew that the new release of the software wasn't available yet. You did it knowing that you have thousands of documents which rely on the software.
That was a pretty stupid thing to do.
I think you should really take your complaints to a close family member, like your mum, who can offer the appropriate level of sympathy and who won't bother to ask why you would be so rash or say other things that may hurt your feelings.
