Hi Luther,
These are definitely both guesses on my part.
Re your first question is it possible that Spanish systems have a "Preferencias" folder and that the standard additions "path to" command is not localized, so always expects "Preferences"?
Re your last two questions, might AS be silently coercing "preferences folder" to "preferences".
