Mt test installation of Lion is currently using the com.apple.finder.plist file with 'AppleShowAllFiles' set to type boolean and it works. It wouldn't hurt to try my script with the type set to string just to see what happens.
I'll save that for later.

I "think" I have turned off Resume in Lion. Earlier today, I looked at some .lockfile's with TextWrangler. All of mine are empty files.
