That's odd.

If you look at its dictionary, there's an application property, "quit
delay", which says: "the time in seconds the application will idle before
quitting; if set to zero, idle time will not cause the application to quit".

So I could understand its not quitting if that value was set to zero, but
not the restarting.

Oh, hang on -- are you using any folder actions? They may keep it running.
