On 1 Sep 2009, I submitted Bug 6954718, which reported: 1. Changes made to Mailbox Behaviors via AppleScript are not written to Mail's preference file and are temporary. 2. Changes made to Mailbox Behaviors via Mail's Get Account Info are not written to Mail's preference file and are temporary.
I don't know the current status of this bug and I don't know if there's a connection with the current problem.
I do have a script which modifies the "Display remote images in HTML messages" without any problem.
