I mounted the disk of TEST-BURN.sparsebundle, then tried this in Terminal ...
$ drutil -drive internal burn -noverify -eject /Volumes/Work_Files/TEST-BURN.sparsebundle Burning Image to Disc: /Volumes/Work_Files/TEST-BURN.sparsebundle
Must specify a valid unmounted image path (dmg, iso, cue/bin, and toc).
As you can see, it complained that the image disk was mounted.
So, with the image disk mounted, I tried this in Terminal ... $ drutil -drive internal burn -noverify -eject /Volumes/TEST-BURN I got a perfect burn.
So, the work-around for .sparsebundle files is to mount its disk, then burn this disk directly. All Finder attributes are copied to the DVD unaltered.
The question remains, however ... Why should a command that's not supposed to work, work correctly for years, then suddenly stop?
