Exactly. That's the behaviour I was looking for when I made my original post.
The JavaScript stuff works (thanks Axel) but its using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. A syntax similar to that for iCab would be much more elegant.
Having said this, I'll not be holding my breath awaiting any changes to Safari's AppleScript dictionary!
