It was working well, but something changed a couple of months ago (I'm not sure when it stopped working, so I can't tell you what changed sorry). It looks like address book has changed the way that it collects data.

Andrew,

I've been thinking about doing this myself for awhile so I was glad to see your post.  I tried your original script on my Mac and it works for me under OS 10.6.7, FMPA 11.0v3, and AB 5.0.3.  Since I was able to get it to work for me, perhaps something else changed on your system?  What versions are you running?

I couldn't get your modified script to work, presumably because this line doesn't look to be correct:

set thePerson to make new person with properties {first name:TheFirstName, last name:theLastName, company:false, organization:""}

 — at least according to the responses I found in my search
