G'day Shane, and  thank you for  the offer.

However I solved it 10 minutes ago.

I'd tried   performSelector_withObject_afterDelay_("runMM", missing value, 0)
from your book, and it hadn't worked, but i thought after I posted, 'I'm asking for a second', so i tried
 performSelector_withObject_afterDelay_("runMM", missing value, 1)
and hey presto, all's well.

I suspect in my case any time increment other than zero would work.

Thanks again

Regards

Santa
