Thanks for the heads up! I'm actually in Snow Leopard still.
I think I'm just mistaken about the signature disappearing... when I add the attachment to the end of the message (below the signature), the Signature selection menu in the message window changes to None, but the Signature text remains in the message.
So, I'm guessing that Mail adds the attachment *into* the message signature, then resets the Signature to None because it doesn't match any existing [non-attachment] signature.
So, just optics... I should be good.
I'm working on figuring how to now position the insertion point *before* the message signature (for events later on in the script that occur *after* creating the message, setting the signature, and adding the attachment). I used to do that in Eudora by setting the insertion point to the 'end of the message', which was *above* the signature block.
