No dice on that.... when i use "false" I get this:
$ defaults write /Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences
MultipleSessionEnabled -bool false
2012-01-04 01:07:22.857 defaults[15990:707] Could not write domain
.GlobalPreferences; exiting
