You are correct. But it sounds like it's an application that triggers your scripts, and if that's so, that's effectively his app running your scripts, which means they won't be able to talk to any other apps.

I suspect he means that the inability of sandboxed applications to script other applications will reduce the attractiveness of making applications scriptable.
