Indd has a background export in CS5. You can try to use that instead of “regular” PDF export. You have to specify background exporting. But I’m not really sure that’s your culprit anyways.
I do a TON of Indd scripting and never have had a way to keep it in the background all the time. I just leave tasks like that to slave computers, or warn users you can’t do things while scripts are running, period. :-/
Just a thought, you have that sub handler which calls Indd seperately again. But the main script has visible set to false. Maybe the subhandler is overriding the first handler.
