Hey Brian,

It does not freeze here, but if the image is of any size it can be very, very slow to return data - or it can timeout.

Daniel: these both work in Lion:

set theClip to the clipboard

set theClip to the clipboard as record

set clipInfo to clipboard info

And I'm about 99% sure they both work fine on Snow Leopard.
