Thanks! I tried 'mount volume' and it does work. However, I have noticed another problem.

If I mount my disk using either
	the Finder's Go/Connect to Server.../ menu item
or
	the 'mount volume' command,
the disk mounts as read only.
On the other hand, if I mount the disk via Transmit, then quit Transmit, the mounted disk is read & write.
I don't know if AppleScript knows how to do the latter.
