Xcode Installation

  • Subject: Xcode Installation

I don't use Xcode very often, but I do use it from time-to-time with AppleScript.
Recently, I bought a new Mac mini, started using Lion, and installed Xcode 4.5.2.

Previously, my home folder was about 1 GB. Yesterday, while backing-up, I noticed that my home folder was now 3.42 GB. I looked for large folders and soon found that the culprit was Xcode.

Xcode installs the folder <home>/Library/Developer/Shared/Documentation/DocSets/ which contains 1.94 GB of Xcode documentation files.

This seems to be the wrong place to store this. Shouldn't this documentation be stored in
<startupdisk>/Library/Developer/ ? (Which exists)

Has anyone else noticed this? Any comments?
