Alex,

It's not a AppleScript thing. My suggestion was based purely on what Guy is trying to do - I do something very similar with Dropbox and IFTTT.

IFTTT - IF This Then That - is a website that allows you to connect various web services together. As a simple example you can have IFTTT send you an email when someone adds a file to a folder on your DropBox.
