Hi Axel,
Thanks for replying.
The emails have 30 MB attachments. While the script (triggered by the rule) processes the message and moves it to another imap mailbox, Mail's UI slows down and is almost unusable. This isn't acceptable for my client.
It's not processing the attachment that's the slow bit, it's just moving it to the other mailbox. The script moves the message to a "failed" or "processed" mailbox, depending on the result.
I'm going to try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getmail when I get the chance.
