Hi Chris,

The process of exporting to EPS shouldn't care about output intent. The EPS will contain and report only the inks that are used. My testing seems to verify that but, of course, I can't guarantee it in every case. 

However, I think it's safe to make a generalization. It's likely that the procedures for file prep at Rob's company are fairly consistent—maybe even standardized. In that case, once it's determined that the inks reported in an exported EPS are correct using the regular procedures of that environment, then it can be trusted for every project. 

Besides, any failure would become obvious and the methods corrected, so it's not a case of blind faith.
