I understand the desire to not have to install extra stuff onto a user/client computer. But at some point the machinations to NOT do that outweigh the benefit of doing that install. Maybe you could get your job started and done in the time/days it’s taken to kick this discussion around.
And it’s not just you, this topic has come up before- everyone needs to be realistic and open to installs when it can efficiently advance the job requirements. Or you make your case to the IT managers as to how much time/money it saves in the long run.
