Surely, I didn’t get your point. Part of the confusion stems from the fact the osascript,
not Script Editor, behaves differently in Yosemite. My main problem is how to make
a script run from the command-line print something to the terminal in a reliable way.
Clearly, log is not the answer. I will try with a Cocoa-based solution, as you have
suggested.

Agree :) And working under constraints can actually yield better results :)
Thanks for your thorough explanation. I will experiment more and evaluate whether
a bug report or a feature request is worth filing!
