Yea verily.

Thank you for saving me from my ambiguity Gary.  :)

AppleScript applets have been known to flake-out, eat memory, and do other unpredictable things over time.

I believe SMILE would be a much more robust and stable engine for S.J.'s purpose than an applet, although this is only my opinion as I have not actually used it myself for such a task.

It in combination with a stay-alive mechanism should be very sound.

Hopefully Emmanuel will weigh-in and tell you just how sound.
