The need hasn’t arisen, “load script” (which I deploy extensively) has sufficed for my needs, as well as being able to use shell scripts

Absolutely! That would be the BOMB

That Apple evangelize AppleScript, and address its issues, at a higher level. When I show people what AppleScript can do they are always amazed, but it still isn’t “shiny”. It's more of an under-the-hood thing as it is.
