Previously on the list I enquired about a script I had which would copy and then paste some text into a window in Google Chrome. I discovered that I needed to give Script Editor and System Events and SystemUIServer assistive access in the “Privacy” window of “Security and Privacy” in System Preferences.
Yet having enabled it - and looking at it right now it’s still there - I run the script and get errors, specifically
""System Events got an error: Script Editor is not allowed assistive access." number -1719 from menu bar 1 of process "Google Chrome””
And yet it *does* have assistive access. It’s right there.
I’ve tried unticking and reticking the tickbox in the listing. That doesn’t solve it. Sometimes restarting Chrome does (hasn’t in this case).
I’m on 10.10.1, though this also occurred on 10.10.0.
Has anyone else seen this, and/or got solutions for it? It’s a script I use multiple times daily, so its failure is more than an annoyance.
(My apologies btw for previously having reposted the whole digest in another thread. Darned mobile phones.)
best
Charles
