As long as you don't enable guest access *and* enable remote login for all users, you are not at risk. And if you do, chances are you have a lot more problems to worry about.

There are third-party patches for versions of the OS before 10.7. But worrying about security while sticking with old versions of the OS (and their old browsers) is a bit of a contradiction.
