I'm not so sure. Clicking _any_ button in Script Editor produces the
effect, while clicking the "View" button in a Finder window doesn't. (It
produces a drop-down menu sheet as expected.)

The '09 version does, but it's one of the applications where I allow the
icons anyway!

The search field should appear at the top of the main pane of the window
instead of in the toolbar.
